§ 2.44.030. Director.

The public works department shall be headed by a director of public works appointed by the city manager. He shall be responsible for the direction and control of all functions assigned to that department and shall be the city engineer, the superintendent of streets, the superintendent of public utilities and shall be responsible for the discharge of duties pertaining thereto. The public works department shall be organized, maintained and operated by the director of public works under the general administrative direction of the city manager.
