§ 13.48.040. Removal or relocation procedure.

    Any person who desires the removal or change in location of a fire hydrant shall make a request in writing to the water department. If the fire chief approves the proposed removal or relocation, the city shall prepare an estimate of the cost of the proposed work. The person requesting the removal or relocation shall first deposit an amount equal to the estimated cost with the commercial office before the city starts work. Upon completion of the work, the actual cost shall be compiled and any difference between the actual and the estimated cost shall be billed or refunded for the applicant's account.

    If the hydrant is outside the city limits, the applicant shall obtain written approval of the fire district having jurisdiction over it.
